Excellent

The food preparation and service was certainly one of the best in Berlin. The menu generally was dominated by a majority Germanic cuisine, but each dish from appetizer to desert was superb. Prices were not outrageous. And at the end of the meal the chef came around to thank us for joining his restaurant. Minor negatives: the wine list, though good, was limited. The atmosphere was very quite without an ambient music. All in all highly recommended.

The Best in Town

I went to 7 restaurants in Berlin and Alt Luxemburg was by far the best. Great English speaking staff and the food is to die for… I would definitely go back if ever in Berlin again and recommend to all.

Excellent in every respect

For the last several years my wife and I have been celebrating special occasions by dining at one of Berlin’s top restaurants. We had tried almost all of them when we decided that last night’s celebration should be at Alt Luxemburg. We found it to be excellent, indeed unsurpassed, in every respect. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable, the tables a respectful distance from each other, and the room quietly elegant. The service was impeccable. Attentive but never intrusive. Champagne and an amuse bouche of a small slice of a heavenly duck mousse began the meal. All of the food was marvelous, including such superbly prepared dishes as warm lobster meat on tomatoes in a light vinagrette, calves brains, tomato essence, thin pasta with tiny chanterelles in a light cream sauce, and duck breast cooked perfectly …
