History

The Alt Luxemburg also places an emphasis on ambience. As the only top-class restaurant in Berlin it offers the comfortable atmosphere of an historical Berlin parlour of the period of promoterism – and for this reason it expresses perfectly how rooted the Alt Luxemburg is in the capital city.

In 1982, the Alt Luxemburg Gourmet Restaurant opened on Pestalozzistraße in Charlottenburg, in 1991 it relocated into the immediate vicinity, Windscheidstraße. To this day the ambiance embodies the familiar, personal and, in the good sense, traditional character of this restaurant – and for this reason offers the perfect setting for the creative, classical cuisine of Karl Wannemacher.
